Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-06-01

This Privacy Policy explains how Edit (“Edit,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Edit platform and websites (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

  • Account & studio info. Your name, email, studio name, studio URL, and settings you provide.
  • Billing info. Subscription and payment details are processed by Stripe. We receive limited information (such as plan, status, and the last four digits / card brand) but do not store your full card number.
  • Content you provide. Photos, files, galleries, deliverables, agreements, invoices, and the client information you enter (your clients’ names, emails, and project details).
  • Usage & device data. Log data such as IP address, browser, pages viewed, and actions taken, used for security, debugging, and improving the Service.
  • Cookies. Essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

2. How we use information

To provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service; to process payments and manage subscriptions; to send transactional messages (verification, receipts, notifications) and important account or service updates; to provide support; to enforce our Terms; and to comply with the law.

3. Your clients’ data

When you add clients to Edit, you are the controller of that information and Edit acts as a processor handling it on your behalf to provide the Service. You are responsible for any notices to, and consents from, your clients. We do not use your clients’ data for our own marketing.

4. How we share information — service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with vendors that help us run the Service, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms:

  • Stripe — payment processing & subscription billing.
  • Supabase — database & authentication.
  • Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, custom domains, and object/image storage.
  • Render — application hosting.
  • Resend / Postmark — transactional email delivery.
  • Sentry — error monitoring.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. After account closure, we delete or de-identify data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, billing records).

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, tenant isolation, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — keep your own copies of important files.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can manage much of your data in-app; for other requests, email hi@tryedit.co. For your clients’ data, contact the studio that controls it.

8. Children

The Service is for businesses and adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International users

We operate in the United States and process data there. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in the U.S.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app, and the “last updated” date above will change.
